Divorce /Civil Partnership Dissolution

This may be something you can start and deal with yourself. If you would prefer to have this dealt with by me over the typical 6 to 11 months timescale, then please see the Fees page for this.  You may still need an order for finances to close off future financial claims.​

Pre-Nuptials

I can assist with obtaining or advising on a pre or post nuptial agreement. An "off the shelf" agreement may not provide the security sought. It is important that the correct formalities are observed and that the agreement is tailored to your situation to maximise its effectiveness. See the Fees page for more information.    

Swears and Certified Copies

Divorce Finances 

It may be you have agreed finances. If so, it is often important to put this into a legally binding court order. This prevents a party from changing their mind, provides timescales for implementation and prevents future claims. If you haven't agreed finances, it is important to obtain a fair settlement for you and your family. An initial discussion on this may assist. See Fees page for more information.

Cohabitation Finances

I can advise on your rights at the end of your relationship, particularly in relation to property rights of occupation and rights of access. I can also draft a living together declaration or deed. This is often to set out any payments made in the household during a relationship and perhaps to confirm any interests in property or to clarify that a new partner will not acquire any interest in your property as a result of living together..

Injunctions

I can advise you on non molestation and occupation injunction orders. This may be in applying for an injunction on any relationship breakdown, representing you at court or assisting you as respondent. It may be advisable as respondent to try and de-escalate and agree matters, ensuring though that findings are not made against you that might affect you on other matters (Finances or Children Matters)

Children

I can advise and assist on ensuring there are fair arrangements for seeing any children, seek orders for the children's return where they have been retained or taken by one party, apply for and advise on Special Guardianship Orders, secure live with orders on separation if that provides reassurance and stability.

Name Change

I can prepare a Deed of Name Change for you and any children, subject to obtaining the permission of anyone with parental responsibility.
